Corryvrechan Scottish Dance Display Team

Corryvrechan dances at major international festivals and many events around the UK - for ceilidhs, weddings, Scottish themed evenings, country fêtes, fairs and charity events. In fact, for any occasion which calls for some traditional Scottish entertainment. You don't have to wait for St Andrew's Night or a Burns Supper!

An evening's entertainment can be arranged to include something for everyone, where general dancing for all (with lots of light-hearted instruction) is interspersed with short demonstration spots. Or for other occasions, more specialised Scottish dancing workshops can also be arranged.

We always dance to live music, and are fortunate to work with a large number of great musicians.

We are also thrilled to have danced away with the coveted Mabel Ellison trophy for the Best Display Performance at the prestigious Newcastle Scottish Dance Festival in February. Our display drew inspiration from the diverse roots of the Scottish dance tradition. The team was also awarded first prize for the best mixed group and highest overall score against strong opposition.

Team Leader and choreographer, Erica Archer, said "Corryvrechan is a little different. We like to push the boundaries of traditional Scottish dancing and were delighted this was appreciated by the adjudicators."

We aim to communicate our enthusiasm for the traditions of Scotland's dances to all our audiences, wherever they may be.
